Based on documented estimates, Shannon’s work has contributed to the seizure in excess of $10,000,000 in cash, numerous vehicles, equipment, and tractor-trailer rigs tied to criminal operations.
He has been instrumental in removing large quantities of illegal narcotics from our communities, including approximately 31,478 pounds of marijuana, 6,100 pounds of cocaine, and 200 pounds of methamphetamine.
In over 35 years Shannon has been involved in approximately 3,190 felony arrests and the recovery of stolen vehicles. He has earn over two dozen awards over his career.
In addition to a long career in law enforcement, Shannon Penn has spent more than four decades building, managing, and growing successful businesses across Mississippi. As a business owner, he has created jobs, managed employees, balanced budgets, invested in local communities, and built companies through hard work and integrity. Those experiences have strengthened the leadership, accountability, and decision-making skills he will bring as Sheriff of Rankin County.
